Beginning during the second half of June, 299, agents of the RAAC systematically visited local soccer clubs and attended local games in all parts of the country. At the end of this period of observation, offers were made to the outstanding players to attend provincial soccer camps which the RAAC opened at the start of July in each of the sixteen provinces of the homeland, in the four provinces of Disonda, and in the four quarters of Port Marie. From these camps emerged twenty-four teams grouped into two leagues, each containing three divisions. These teams are competing within their divisions during the month of August; division champions will enter playoffs in each league in September, and the two league champions emerging from these playoffs will play a best-of-five series for the National Championship. The structure of the two leagues, the make-up of the divisions, and the provincial team names and uniforms may be seen at these links: Meanwhile, outstanding players will be invited to gather at the national training camp, located in the salubrious climate of the Suthbirg foothills. The Altlandic national team will be chosen in the course of October from among the participants in the camp's training program, and it will soon thereafter be entered in international competition. The RAAC has already chosen a temporary logo for the national soccer program as well as adopted a tentative design for the national team's uniform. It presents them below and invites public comment. |
