Welcome to the

SOUTH SHORE QUARTER

of the Crown Colony of Port Marie

Gateway to Port Marie.

What flounder is to Northlands and the Capital Quarter, the mighty (and very tasty) swordfish is to the South Shore.

"This fish may wave his mighty snout,

"But we can always knock him out."

Percy Dovetonsils, The Pisciad, Book VII, line 321.

The Porta Alba at the start of the King's Highway in Oldgate, whose name refers to it, at the Port Marie's only border: the portal on the left leads to the Whitland's enclave of Port Julian; that on the right to the Federal Republic of Neoliliana and Western Gorami

Agriculture is also important in the quarter, especially in the northern townships of Southport, where small family farms like this one can still provide a decent living and a remarkably peaceful and heathly way of life.

There's fun for all ages in the swordfishery: these funloving and public-spirited young participants, for example, are about to bolster the local economy to the tune of ¶ 2/6.5 a pound.

The regional mascot and foremost source of healthy protein is honored atop the Oldgate County Courthouse weathervane.
