Disondan Diplomacy

Although Disonda is not a fully sovereign, independent state, it nonetheless maintains its own lower-level diplomatic representation in certain foreign countries with whom it has had historic relations. This representation takes three distinct forms.

First, in every Altlandic embassy there is maintained a distinct Disondan Interest Section staffed by citizens of the Principality and dealing with interests and issues particular to Disonda, including trade relations, tourism, ancestry and citizenship, and immigration. In certain countries with which The Kingdom of Altland does not have full diplomatic relations, Disondan interest sections are exist within the embassies of friendly nations who do have such relations.

Second, in certain non-capital cities of countries with which The Kingdom of Altland has full diplomatic relations, the United Provinces of Disonda may maintain its own consulates in cases when the Kingdom does not have a consulate. For the most part, these consulates are set up in places which have historic ties to Disonda in particular, in which there are significant communities of Disondan expatriates, or in which their are significant numbers of people with relatives resident in Disonda.

Third, in those foreign non-capital cities with which Disondans have significant commercial ties or are striving to develop such ties, separate Disondan Trade Offices are established to deal with the problems and opportunities of overseas commerce.
